It became one of the wealthiest cities of Europe in the 14th century when the largest silver mines of Europe were found nearby. By the 15th century it rivaled even Praha. But in the 16th century the silver mines were being exhausted and for 300 years KUTNA HORA slipped into a long sleep. Now, its cultural significance has re-awakened its importance, .   .   .   and the silver mines of old? Well, the mountains of earth dug up have now become the most important uranium ore deposits of Europe. And for us, an incredible part of our journey!
